Class Descriptions

SHOOTING STARS SOCCER

CHEETAHS (2 years old soccer Parent/Caregiver participation)

The Cheetahs curriculum is designed as a more advanced interactive class involving the caregiver. We focus on dribbling, balance, shooting and encourage children to use their feet.

 

PUMAS (3 years old soccer)

The Pumas curriculum is designed as an independent beginner’s class. We focus on dribbling, shooting, accuracy and ball control with a variety of fun games.  

 

JAGUARS (3.5 to 4 years old soccer)

The Jaguars curriculum is designed as an advanced independent class which is a progression from the Pumas class. We focus on dribbling, shooting, accuracy, ball control, passing and receiving the ball.

 

LEOPARDS: 4 years old soccer

The Leopards curriculum focuses on basic skills of the game. We focus on dribbling, shooting, ball control, heading, passing and receiving the ball. In addition, we play a small sided game to reinforce those skills learned and put the emphasis on achieving those skills taught.

 

LIONS  (5 years old soccer)

The Lions curriculum focuses on dribbling, shooting, ball control, passing and receiving the ball, heading, fitness and most importantly working together as a TEAM!

 

TIGERS  (6 years old soccer)

The Tigers curriculum will be based on the level of play of the participants. Each child will be challenged to achieve personal growth as well as learn team concepts.  A small sided game will concude each week reinforcing the fundamental skills that have been taught that day.

 

Shooting Stars Soccer Camp

(4 to 7 years old)

Shooting Stars Soccer Camp will focus on dribbling, shooting, ball control, passing, receiving, heading and shielding the ball. Camp will conclude each day with a small sided game which reinforces the skills taught that day.  All levels are welcome to attend and will be grouped according to age or ability.

 

SHOOTING STARS BASKETBALL

Level I Basketball Class:

This curriculum focuses on the basic skills of the game. We focus on the fundamentals such as dribbling, shooting, ball handling and passing. This program is ideal for the child with little to no experience.  We stongly encourage working together as a TEAM while developing individual skills!

 

Level II Basketball Class:

This curriculum focuses on dribbling, shooting, passing, ball handling and defense.  We strongly encourage the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork and determination. In addition, we will play competitive games leading up to a scrimmage at the end of class which reinforces the skills learned throughout the program.

 

Basketball Clinic (5-7 years):

We focus on dribbling, shooting, passing, ball handling and defense.  Emphasis is given on developing each individuals player skills which concludes with a basketball game and reinforces the skills taught.

 

SHOOTING STARS LACROSSE

Cherokees (3 year old lacrosse)

The Cherokee curriculum is designed as an independent beginner’s class. We focus on the basic introductory skills of stick handling, cradling, shooting and scooping with a variety of fun games.

 

Apachees (4 year old lacrosse)

The Apachee curriculum focuses on the basic skills of the game. We focus on the basic introductory skills of stick handling, cradling, shooting, dodging and scooping on the move with an introduction to stationary passing and throwing.

 

Mohawks (5 year old lacrosse)

The Mohawk is an advanced curriculum that focuses on stick handling, cradling, shooting, scooping, dodging, passing and throwing on the move with small sided games and most importantly working together as a TEAM!

 

Shooting Stars Lacrosse Clinic (5-7 years)

This Lacrosse Clinic is designed for the child with some playing experience.   We emphasize scooping, cradling, shooting, dodging, passing and catching the ball.  A scrimmage concludes each week reinforcing the skills taught that day.

Shooting Stars Lacrosse Camp (4-7 years)

Shooting Stars Lacrosse Camp emphasizes scooping, cradling, shooting, dodging, passing and catching the ball. Children are grouped according to age or ability. All equipment is provided. Our main goal is to concentrate of the fundamentals of the game while building self-esteem and essential skills.

 

Attire

Please have your child wear comfortable clothes, sneakers and bring a drink for our break.
